Over the last two years, traffic deaths across the United States increased 14%.  In 2016, nearly 6,000 pedestrians died – the highest number in more than two decades.

JOIN US to share your ideas + skills through a series of community problem-solving sessions, data faires, hackathons, and demos across the nation.

What is the National Transportation Data Challenge?

The Challenge is a series of community problem-solving sessions, hackathons, and other events over the course of 6 months -- designed to spark collaborations, improve the accessibility and utilization of transportation data, and help save lives.

From May through October 2017, the Big Data Innovation Hubs and our growing network of partners are facilitating unique opportunities to work on projects aiming to reduce traffic fatalities and improve transportation safety.  We are particularly excited to help connect innovators across industry, academia, nonprofits, and government and build partnerships drawing from a diverse community.
