  • MetroLab workshop on Big Data and Human Services in Seattle Jan 17-18th. This workshop will convene experts from local government and universities to discuss common challenges and propose collaborative, data-driven solutions to human service issues.   • Global City Teams Challenge Super Action Cluster Summit in Portland on Feb 1-2.   • Microsoft Research, Amazon, Google(?)  and the Hubs anticipate hosting a National Data Science Challenge in Metro Data Science, using Azure credits to evaluate the innovators' solutions.  Anyone in the West region could participate by submitting their algorithm into the competition.  Microsoft Research will partner with WBDIH to fund additional prizes, develop collaborative technical metrics for evaluation, and collaborate on follow-up projects.
